Though in IBPS SO Examination, the general competition of banking exams is eliminated due to the need of holding special qualifications for the SO posts, however, due to limited vacancies, the competition still remains tough. Therefore, the first step to mastering the Reasoning Section is to know the syllabus and exam level of IBPS SO.   • Mastering Inequality: Inequality is one of the easiest topics of IBPS SO Reasoning. It won’t take you more than 1-2 days to master this topic. The weightage of Inequality questions in the banking examination is around 5 marks. Despite the inequality topic being easy to understand, you’ll have to practice it to the level that you take not more than 20-30 seconds to solve inequality questions. 
  • Syllogism: If you’ve prepared for any competitive exam, you would have a basic understanding of syllogism, in case you don’t, it is an easy topic that you can easily cover in 3-5 days. However, the level of syllogism questions in the ibps so exam is a bit on the moderate side, therefore, try to understand all the basics of syllogism. Moreover, in all the miscellaneous questions such as syllogism, your main aim should be to attain high speed and accuracy.

  • Blood Relation: After Inequality and syllogism, blood relation can be the next score-boosting topic you can aim to master. In the blood relation topic, it is more about practice than theoretical understanding. Usually, around 2-3 questions from this topic are highly scoring in nature. 
  • Direction & Distance: Once you’ve mastered all the above topics, you will start to attempt at least a few questions in the reasoning section. Now, it’s time to master another easy-to-go topic, which is Direction & Distance. There is nothing much in this topic, all you need is to practice to increase your speed so that you can attempt such questions in as little time as possible. 
  • Puzzles & Seating Arrangement: Yes, you can score 10-15 marks by attempting miscellaneous questions, but you can never attain a decent score without mastering puzzles and seating arrangement. Since this topic demands a lot of practice and time to prepare, you can first master the easy topics before moving on to puzzles and seating arrangement preparation for the IBPS SO Examination. Puzzles & Seating Arrangement questions can only be mastered through intense practice, that is, you should solve at least 10-12 puzzles in your initial phase of preparation. Moreover, you should give quizzes, mini mock tests, and mock tests on a regular basis to master puzzles.

  • Other Miscellaneous Questions: Apart from these topics, there are other miscellaneous questions too, like alphanumeric series, coding-decoding & Input-Output, etc. However, there is no certainty of these questions to be asked in every shift of the IBPS SO exam, but they will come in a few exam shifts for sure. So, prepare these topics from your end.
