Types of Scented Products to Make Your Home Smell Good

Years ago, all you had to do was buy a room freshener and spray it around whenever you felt that your home was beginning to smell weird. While that did work for a while there, we know better now about how much chemicals are loaded in store-bought room fresheners and how they can affect your health in the long run, especially if you keep inhaling them from within your home.

Thankfully, we now have many more clean and organic ways to make our homes smell fresh and clean, and most of them don’t involve chemicals at all! In this article, we’ll walk you through 3 of our favourite products that will make your home smell like a dream, let’s get started!

1. Scented candles Products

You just can’t go wrong with these, can you? Not only are they the easiest way to have your home smelling fragrant for hours on end, but they also look super classy when you’re having guests over. The only thing you need to do is make sure that the candles you’re purchasing are soy-based or chemical-free, as some cheap scented candles products can have chemicals that will blend in with the air you breathe, making them just as dangerous as regular air fresheners.

Diptyque signature candles are one such product that you may want to invest in if you love candles that come in the most exquisite fragrances and also look like eye candy. Not only do they look posh and classy (unlike certain candles that are simply covered in too much glitter) but they also are long-lasting and can be used quite often before they run out, making them worth the penny.

2. Potpourri

Up next, we’ve got potpourri, another one of our harmless favourites! If you’re into home decor, you know that potpourri is definitely something you want to have somewhere in your living room, because even after the fragrance goes away, the pretty petals and seashells are still going to look super pretty and give your room a homely, warm, and cosy feeling!

3. Homemade air freshener

This one is really popular at the moment, so you may have already heard about it. Homemade room freshener is the new best way to make your room smell like cinnamon and fresh berries. All you have to do is fill up a large pot with water and bring it to a boil. Once the water is hot, you can add your favourite berries and a cinnamon stick (or if you like citrus fragrances, go ahead and put some lemon and orange slices in there) to the pot and let it reach a boil. Once the berries have been boiled and you begin to smell the aroma, you can turn off the stove and leave the pot where it is as the fragrance will slowly begin to spread all across your home by itself.

The only drawback with this method is that it may not always be the most economical, so you can save this hack for when guests come over and you really want the smell of warm berries and cinnamon to fill the air!

On other days, you can stick to the classic scented candle products or potpourri to have your room smelling as fresh (and healthy) as ever!
